Back in St. Louis, where improv was born!

My last visit was so inspiring. Thank you for having me back, this time packed with four masterclasses for your improv enjoyment.

As always, I’ll teach principles from my book, A Subversive’s Guide to Improvisation. We’re still making history!

All masterclasses will be held at the First Congregational Church of St. Louis.

Reserve your spots here.

Get In Focus
Friday, May 10
7-10 pm
$75

What are you focused on when you begin a scene? What great offers are you missing because you’re building a story instead of connecting to your emotional responses? Get in Focus will teach you how to use the power of their kinesthetic responses to build strong scenes the moment the scene starts. Recognize how your body tells you where to focus your attention, then build a great connection from there.

A Full-Day Masterclass
Saturday, May 11
10:30 am-5:30 pm (An hour lunch break will be figured in!)
$150

A Full-Day Masterclass builds on Razowsky’s methodology of mindfulness, emotional awareness, kinesthetic responses, and truthfulness as outlined in his book, A Subversive’s Guide to Improvisation. A Full-Day Masterclass will begin by reviewing the basics of connectedness and fly from there. This is gonna be good!

Play the Moment
Sunday, May 12
10:30 am-1:30 pm
$75
A moment means a pause, a reflection between lines of dialogue.
It gives you tie to embrace the silence and respond truthfully to what's happening in the scene.
A moment can also indicate a profound change to the scene. In this workshop, you'll recognize the power of playing a moment and allow yourself to feel the impact of silence.

This masterclass will change the way you act and connect to your partner.

“How Do I Work with THAT?”
Sunday, May 12
2:30-5:30 pm
$75
There are more improv jams than ever, which means more opportunities to perform, sometimes with great players, sometimes with challenging ones. This class will help you create exciting scenes no matter what anyone tosses at you.

Learn to work with improvisers who:

* Always go for the joke

* Start a scene at a “10”

* Don’t listen, talk over you, or don’t let you talk

* Make you or themselves crazy, high, drunk, or demented

* Start the scene at an obvious beginning

* Play a racist/sexist, transphobic, or homophobic character

* Mindlessly add plot

* Talk about the activity in a scene

* Start a transaction, negotiation, or teaching scene

* Deny the basic reality of the scene

* Worry about what to say so they don’t say anything

You have choices. Learn what they are.
