Workshops in one of the cities where improv was born!

This will be my first time teaching workshops in St. Louis, and I’m overjoyed. The improv we know today started with The Compass Players at the Crystal Palace in St. Louis. It’s where Theodore J. Flicker, Mike Nichols, Elaine May, and Del Close codified principles to guide improvisational players.

We’ve come a long way!

I’ll be teaching principles out of my book, A Subversive’s Guide to Improvisation. Come join us for two nights of transformative and freeing improvisation. Make Theodore, Mike, Elaine, and Del proud!

Monday 10/23/23
Get In Focus

What are you focused on when you begin a scene? What great offers are you missing because you’re building a story instead of connecting to your emotional responses? Get in Focus will teach you how to use the power of their kinesthetic responses to build strong scenes the moment the scene starts. Recognize how your body tells you where to focus your attention, then build a great connection from there.

Stage Dynamics

Now that we’re back improvising on stage, your awareness of the power of where you are on stage is vital to great scenework. The dynamics between you and your partner are defined not just by your dialogue but by where you are on stage when speaking. Each inch of that stage is there to help you better define your relationships, build tension, and make surprising discoveries. Explore the hidden treasures that lie beneath your feet.

$100 with Signed Copy of A Subversive’s Guide to Improvisation

Both masterclasses are held at the First Congregational Church of St. Louis, 6501 Wydown Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63105.
