Pinpoint Point of View
July 28, 5:30-8:30pm
The focus of Pinpoint Point of View is to learn how to use shape - also known as “body language” - to determine your point of view, and to hold onto it. It is the single most important element of a strong and focused scene.
Play the Moment
July 29, 5:30-8:30pm
A moment means a pause, a reflection between lines of dialogue. It gives you time to respond truthfully to what’s happening in the scene. It can also be an indication of a new beat. Recognize the power of playing a moment and allow yourself to feel the impact of silence.
Focus on the Shiny Object
August 2, 11am-2pm
Every line of dialogue has a hidden gem in it that leads to a great discovery. Notice the shiny objects hidden in plain sight, words that pique your interest and then use them to lead you to exciting discoveries.
Know Your Status
August 2, 3-6pm
Your status in a scene helps define your point of view. Changes in status keep your scenes alive. Status is the basis of character work. It’s part of the engine that drives your point of view and pushes against your partner’s point of view. Identify your status, either high or low, and recognize when it shifts. Embrace it and fully commit to your new status.
