We’ve Got Workshops For Beginners and Veterans!
I love the actors I get to work with in Auckland. They’re open, courageous, and ready to challenge themselves. I’m happy to say I’ll be offering two weekend workshops. Click the links for further info and booking.
“Yes, It’s That Simple!”
This workshop is designed for folks who’ve never studied with me, or who would like a refresher course! I joyfully invite you all!
Seeing the first step:
- Attain calm self-awareness and control at the beginning of the scene, which will lead you to strong and clear points-of-view.
Getting specific without getting anchored down
- Spice up your scenes by adding specifics to your scene world, playing them like the jazz musician all improvisers are! Your mind will soar, your characters will surprise, and your work will have a vibrancy never imagined.
Letting go and courageously moving on
- If the beat feels like it's over, it's over. Clearly see what comes next. (And what's next is not panic!) If you think you know where your scene is going, you're probably missing out on some great experiences!
Reading your partner like a book
- Become aware of what your partner is secretly asking you to do, and then confidently do it! It's ESP: Extra Sensory Performing.
As an extra part of the workshop, there will be a guided improvisation performance at 7:30 p.m. on the Sunday evening. This is an opportunity to put what you have learned into action.
”Performing in a show directed by David Razowsky is a special event. His gentle, direct ‘side coaching’ has proven to benefit all improvisers who have joined him. The cast of actors will be lead through scenes with David keeping the actors focused on their points-of-view, following where the heat of the scene is and where the scenic surprises live. All this with a live audience!”
This workshop is designed for those who have worked with me in the past, either the previous week, or a previous workshop. It’ll be great to work with you again.
Finesse builds on my methodology of mindfulness, awareness, kinesthetic response, truthfulness, and breath to create longer, deeper and surprising scenes.
You’ll experience an ease and openness you’ve never experienced in improv, and discover that you have everything you need right inside of you.
BONUS: I will be performing with the students at 7:30 p.m. on the Sunday evening. This is an opportunity to put what you have learned into action.
”Performing in a show with David Razowsky is a special event. It is an invigorating experience, where you don’t have the chance to think about what you’ll do. You just do it!” All this with a live audience.
There’s something for everyone. Come join us. It will change your life.
